Cost guide
Course platform fees that change the real price
The monthly plan is only one line in the cost model. Compare the full operating cost at your expected sales and audience size.
Subscription fee
Check monthly versus annual billing, renewal terms, plan limits, price-change notices, and whether taxes are added.
Platform transaction fee
Some providers charge a percentage of sales on lower plans. A higher subscription can be cheaper once sales volume grows.
Payment processing
Card processing is usually separate. Rates can vary by country, card type, currency conversion, payment method, and chargeback.
Usage and overage fees
Review limits for active students, imported students, products, administrators, contacts, email sends, storage, video, communities, and API use.
Marketing stack
A low-cost course platform may require separate email, funnel, webinar, CRM, affiliate, or checkout tools. Include those subscriptions and integration work.
Migration and switching
Budget for content rebuilding, redirects, customer communication, payment migration, data cleanup, and the period when two systems may run together.
Simple calculation
Monthly total = platform subscription + platform sales fees + payment processing + required add-ons + estimated support and administration time.
Run the calculation at low, expected, and high revenue levels before choosing a plan.
